About Bacteriostatic Water
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a preservative that suppresses bacterial growth and allows a reconstituted vial to be drawn from more than once rather than being discarded after a single use.
It is the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilised research peptides. We stock 5ml and 10ml vials: the 5ml size suits a single peptide vial such as retatrutide, while the 10ml is the more economical choice when several compounds are being prepared in the same session.
Add it to any peptide order and it ships together in the same tracked UK parcel, with same-working-day dispatch before 1:30pm.

Storage and handling
- Supplied as sterile bacteriostatic water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol in a sealed vial.
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Wipe the stopper with an alcohol swab before each withdrawal and use a fresh sterile needle every time.

Frequently asked questions
Is Bacteriostatic Water third-party tested?
Yes. Every batch of Bacteriostatic Water is sent to Janoshik Analytical for independent purity and identity testing, and the certificate of analysis is published on our Certificates of Analysis page.
How quickly is Bacteriostatic Water dispatched in the UK?
Orders placed before 1:30pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same working day on a tracked service. We do not dispatch at weekends or on UK public holidays.
What is Bacteriostatic Water supplied for?
Bacteriostatic Water is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research by qualified persons aged 21 or over. It is not a medicine and is not for human or veterinary use.
How much bacteriostatic water do I need per vial?
This depends entirely on the concentration your protocol calls for. A 5ml vial is generally enough for a single peptide vial, while the 10ml is better value if you are preparing several compounds.
How long does bacteriostatic water last once opened?
The benzyl alcohol preservative allows multiple withdrawals; follow your own laboratory’s standard practice for retention and store the opened vial refrigerated and protected from light.
